Cloud infrastructure built to scale with you
From serverless microservices to fully managed cloud platforms, we architect, build and deploy web applications on AWS, Google Cloud and Azure. Resilient, secure and cost-optimised infrastructure that grows as your business does — without the complexity.
💻 Development & Engineering · one of 50 servicesWhat are cloud & web apps?
Cloud-native web applications are software systems hosted on scalable cloud infrastructure rather than traditional fixed servers. They leverage the compute, storage and networking power of providers like Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure to deliver high-availability, performance and security at any scale.
Unlike legacy on-premise software, cloud applications are elastic — they automatically provision more resources during traffic spikes and scale down during quiet periods, so you only pay for what you use. Combined with serverless architectures, CDN delivery and distributed databases, they offer resilience and speed that traditional hosting simply cannot match.
At Thind Global Services, our UK cloud development team designs and deploys cloud-native web applications from the ground up — and migrates existing systems to the cloud with zero data loss and minimal downtime. Whether you need a simple API backend or a complex multi-tenant SaaS platform, we architect it to be secure, observable and cost-efficient from day one.

What you gain with cloud-native apps
Move beyond the limitations of shared hosting and static servers. Cloud infrastructure unlocks capabilities that were once reserved for tech giants.
Infinite Scalability
Handle ten users or ten million. Cloud-native applications automatically scale horizontally and vertically in response to demand, ensuring your app never crashes under load — whether it's a product launch or a sudden viral spike.
Pay Only for What You Use
Serverless and containerised architectures mean you are not paying for idle compute. Our cost-optimised cloud designs have reduced infrastructure spend by an average of 40% compared to traditional dedicated server setups.
Enterprise-Grade Security
Cloud providers invest billions in physical and digital security. We layer on IAM policies, VPC isolation, encryption at rest and in transit, WAF rules and automated vulnerability scanning to keep your application and user data safe.
Global Performance via CDN
Deliver your application from edge nodes closest to your users anywhere in the world. CDN caching, edge computing and regional database replicas mean sub-100ms response times regardless of user location — a critical factor for conversion rates.
Zero-Downtime Deployments
CI/CD pipelines with blue-green or canary deployments mean you can ship new features multiple times a day without taking your application offline. Automated rollback mechanisms ensure a bad release is reversed in seconds, not hours.
Full Observability
Centralised logging, distributed tracing, real-time metrics dashboards and intelligent alerting give your team complete visibility into every layer of the application — so issues are diagnosed and resolved before your users even notice them.
Our cloud development process
A proven six-phase methodology that takes you from initial requirements to a production-ready cloud application with confidence.
Discovery & Architecture Planning
We map your functional requirements, expected traffic patterns, data sensitivity and budget constraints. From this we produce an architecture decision record (ADR) and provider selection rationale — AWS, GCP, Azure or multi-cloud.
Infrastructure Design
We produce a detailed cloud architecture diagram covering compute, storage, networking, security groups, IAM roles and cost projections. Everything is designed as infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or AWS CDK) before a single resource is provisioned.
Application Development
Our engineers build your application using cloud-native patterns — serverless functions, containerised microservices, managed databases and asynchronous message queues. Every component is independently deployable, testable and observable.
CI/CD & Testing
We configure automated pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or AWS CodePipeline) with unit, integration and end-to-end tests. Pull-request previews, staging environments and automated security scans run on every commit before anything reaches production.
Security Hardening & Compliance
Secrets management via AWS Secrets Manager or HashiCorp Vault, penetration testing, OWASP Top 10 remediation, WAF rules and GDPR-compliant data handling are all completed before production launch.
Launch, Monitoring & Optimisation
Production launch with DNS failover, CloudWatch/Datadog dashboards, PagerDuty alerting and a 30-day hyper-care period. Monthly cost reviews identify further savings as usage patterns become clearer.

No surprises. Every cloud & web app project delivers a complete, production-ready system with full documentation and knowledge transfer.

Cloud & web app FAQs
Which cloud provider should I use — AWS, GCP or Azure?+
The right provider depends on your existing tech stack, team familiarity, geographic requirements and specific service needs. AWS has the broadest ecosystem and is our most common recommendation. GCP excels for data analytics and machine-learning workloads. Azure is ideal for businesses already using Microsoft 365 or Active Directory. We assess your specific requirements during discovery and recommend the best fit — or a multi-cloud approach if required.
What is the difference between serverless and containerised applications?+
Serverless functions (AWS Lambda, Google Cloud Functions) execute code in response to events without you managing any server. They are ideal for sporadic, event-driven workloads and scale to zero when idle, meaning zero cost when unused. Containers (Docker, running on ECS, GKE or AKS) package an entire application runtime and are better suited to long-running services with consistent traffic. We often combine both — serverless for background jobs and event processing, containers for the core application — to get the best of both worlds.
Can you migrate our existing application to the cloud?+
Yes, cloud migration is a core part of our service. We follow a proven lift-and-shift, re-platform or re-architect approach depending on your application, timescales and budget. A lift-and-shift moves your existing application to cloud VMs quickly and cheaply. Re-platforming introduces managed services (RDS instead of self-managed MySQL) for quick wins. Re-architecting rebuilds components as cloud-native for maximum long-term benefit. We assess which approach is right for each part of your system and execute the migration with zero data loss and a tested rollback plan.
How do you keep cloud costs under control?+
Cloud bills can spiral without careful management. We implement right-sizing (matching compute to actual usage), Reserved Instance or Committed Use purchasing for predictable workloads, auto-scaling policies to scale down during off-peak hours, S3/GCS intelligent tiering for storage, and CloudWatch/billing alerts to catch unexpected spend. We also set up AWS Cost Explorer or GCP Billing dashboards so you have real-time visibility of exactly what you are spending and why. Our clients typically see 30–50% cost reductions compared to their previous hosting arrangements.
Is cloud infrastructure GDPR compliant?+
Cloud providers offer GDPR-compliant infrastructure, but compliance is a shared responsibility — the provider secures the infrastructure, and you (with our help) are responsible for how data is handled within your application. We implement encryption at rest and in transit, data residency controls (EU regions only where required), access logging, right-to-erasure tooling, and data processing agreements with the cloud providers. We can also produce the technical sections of your GDPR Data Protection Impact Assessment.
What ongoing support do you offer after launch?+
We offer tiered managed cloud support plans starting from £149/month. These include 24/7 monitoring, incident response, security patching, dependency updates, monthly cost reviews and a dedicated Slack channel for your team. For Enterprise clients, we offer on-call SLAs with guaranteed response times and a dedicated cloud engineer. All project packages include a minimum 30-day hyper-care period at no additional charge.
